Florida Swimming Pool Construction Dropped in Q1

A summary of permit data for new swimming pool construction in Florida from January through March 2023

Based on HBW‘s latest Swimming Pool Construction Activity Trend Reports, it appears that new swimming pool construction has taken a nosedive in the first quarter of 2023 in comparison to the same period last year. Since the start of this year (through March), there has been more than a 37 percent year-over-year dip in new swimming pool construction throughout the Sunshine State, resulting in nearly 6,700 new permits added the HBW database. Across the board, all six regions reviewed (Central, West, Southeast, Southwest, Northeast, Northwest) exhibited significant decreases in new pool construction activity, with the greatest concentration of new permits originating from the southwestern region of the state (1,786 permits).
