A review of the leading home builders in Texas based on total new residential construction permits on record with HBW during the month of June 2020
Earlier this week, we reviewed new home construction in Texas and reported that there were 6,843 housing starts with a total construction value of nearly $1.7 billion added to the HBW database for Texas during the month of June 2020. Out of the hundreds of contractors with housing starts on record for the one-month period, there were two builders that have led and continue to lead the market.
From the four major metro areas reviewed in Texas (Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio), D.R. Horton ranked #1 for total new residential construction permits in three out of four areas. With approximately 1,000 housing starts on record last month, D.R. Horton continues to drive new home construction throughout Texas.
Another home builder that has been carrying a higher volume of housing starts month after month is Lennar Homes. With nearly 390 housing starts on record in Texas during the month of June 2020, Lennar Homes ranked as one of the top three builders for total new permits in three out of four metropolitan areas reviewed.

Houston
In the Houston area, there were 345 home builders with new residential construction permits on record with HBW last month, and the following ranked as the top five for total permits for the one-month period:
