A report on the latest new swimming pool permits added to the HBW database for Texas during the month of March 2019
Last month, there were more than 620 swimming pool starts with a total construction value of nearly $40 million in Texas. Out of the four major metro areas reviewed (Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio), Dallas had the highest concentration of new permits and held nearly half of all new construction activity on file with HBW (304 permits) for the one-month period. The average value of new pool construction varied throughout the metro areas and ranged from a low of $43,391 (San Antonio) to a high of $65,370 (Houston). Here is a closer look at the new swimming pool construction permits that were added to the HBW database for Texas last month:
The Dallas metro area ranked #1 last month for total pool starts. With 304 new swimming pool permits and a total construction value in excess of $15.3 million, the average value of new pool construction in the area was approximately $50,500. The counties with the greatest volume of new permits were Tarrant County (74 permits) and Dallas County (69 permits).
Out of the nearly 115 active pool builders on file for the one-month period, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits:

In Houston, there were 170 swimming pool starts with a total construction value of more than $11 million last month. More than half of all new construction originated from Harris County (102 permits), and with an average construction value of $65,370, the Houston area held the highest average value of new pool construction out of the four metro areas reviewed.
Out of nearly 95 active builders in the Houston area last month, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits on file:

Last month, there were 95 new swimming pool permits with a total construction value in excess of $5.2 million on file for Austin. The average value of new pool construction was approximately $55k, and the majority of all new construction took place in Travis County (62 permits).
Out of the 45 active pool builders in the area for the month, the following ranked as the top three for total new pool permits:

In San Antonio, there were approximately 55 new swimming pool permits with a total value of nearly $2.3 million added to the HBW database last month. The average value of new construction was on the lower end of the spectrum (average value: $43.4k), and nearly all new permits originated from Bexar County (42 permits).
