An overview of new permit data for swimming pool construction in Texas during the month of July 2022
The July reports are in and available at HBW, and based on the latest, there have been nearly 850 new swimming pool permits with a total value of approximately $51.3 million added to the HBW database for Texas last month. Out of the four metro areas that were included in the report, Dallas carried the greatest volume of new pool construction activity (371 permits), while the highest average value of new construction projects took place in Houston (average value: $76,698).
From leading counties to average value of construction, here is a closer look at permit data for new pool construction throughout the Lone Star State during the month of July:
Dallas
Last month, there were more than 370 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of $21 million in the Dallas area. The average value of construction was $56,746, and the majority of new permits originated from the two counties of Dallas (110 permits) and Tarrant (97 permits).
Out of the more than 170 pool builders with new construction activity in the area last month, the following ranked as the top three for total permits:

Houston
In Houston, there were more than 290 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of $22.4 million on record with HBW last month. As previously noted, the average value of new pool construction was highest in Houston (average value: $76,698) in comparison to other Texas areas reviewed, and the bulk of construction activity took place in Harris County (117 permits) and Montgomery County (65 permits).
Out of the 150 pool contractors with new construction activity on record in the area last month, the following ranked as the top three for total permits:

Austin
Last month, there were just over 100 new pool permits with a total construction value of nearly $4.8 million added to the HBW database for Austin. The average value of new swimming pool construction was $45,917, and the majority of permits originated from Travis County (87 permits).
Out of the nearly 65 contractors with new swimming pool construction activity on record in the Austin area last month, the following ranked as the top three for total permits:

San Antonio
In San Antonio, there were nearly 80 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value in excess of $3.1 million on record for the month of July. The average value of new pool construction was lowest in San Antonio (average value: $39,947) in comparison to other Texas areas reviewed, and nearly all of the new permits originated from the County of Bexar (62 permits).
