Florida Swimming Pool Construction Summary – November 2023

Upon review of the latest construction data reports from HBW, we discovered that there were more than 1,400 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of approximately $111M added to the HBW database for the month of November 2023.  The reports factored in all new swimming pool construction permits from five major regions of the Sunshine State; those regions were Southwest, Tampa, Orlando, Southeast, Jacksonville.  Out of the regions reviewed, the southwestern region carried the greatest volume of new swimming pool construction activity (364 permits), while the Jacksonville area had the highest average value of new pool construction (average value: $95,371).

Here is a closer look at the total new permits, construction values and counties with the greatest concentration of new swimming pool construction in Florida during the month of November 2023:

Southwest

In the southwest, there were 364 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of $30.1 million last month.  The average value of new swimming pool construction was $82,783, and the counties with the greatest concentration of new pool construction activity were Lee County (184 permits) and Manatee County (83 permits).

Orlando

Last month, there were approximately 345 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of $27.4 million in the Orlando area.  The average value of new pool construction was $79,393, and the counties with the highest concentration of new swimming pool construction activity were Orange (135 permits) and Brevard (78 permits).

Southeast

Ranked #3 for new pool construction in Florida, the southeastern region had nearly 275 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value in excess of $16.7 million during the month of November.  The average value of new pool construction was lowest in the southeast (average value: $60,992) in comparison to other Florida regions reviewed, and the counties with the highest concentration of pool construction activity for the one-month period were Palm Beach (73 permits) and Indian River (65 permits).

Tampa

In Tampa, there were more than 255 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of nearly $21.2 million last month.  The average value of new pool construction was $82,657, and more than half of all new permits originated from the counties of Hillsborough (84 permits) and Pinellas (58 permits).

Jacksonville

In Jacksonville, there were nearly 165 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value in excess of $15.5 million last month.  The average value of new pool construction was highest in Jacksonville (average value: $95,371) in comparison to other Florida regions, and the majority of all new permits originated from the two counties of St. Johns (72 permits) and Duval (43 permits).
