Out of the five major regions (Orlando, Tampa, SW, SE and Jacksonville) reviewed, Orlando ranked #1 and highest for total housing starts (1,470 permits) and average value ($306,279) of construction. Out of the hundreds of active builders for the one-month period, D.R. Horton ranked top for total permits in Orlando and Jacksonville, and Lennar Homes had the greatest amount of starts in Tampa, and the southern portion of the state.
