HBW Report: Florida Swimming Pool Construction – January 2025

Based on the HBW’s latest construction data reports, there were more than 1,765 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value in excess of $146.5 million added to the HBW database for Florida last month. Out of the five regions reviewed (Orlando, Southwest, Southeast, Tampa, Jacksonville), the greatest amount of new pool construction could be found in the Southwest (611 permits), while the highest average value of new construction projects could be found in Jacksonville (average value: $97,119).

From total permits and construction values to leading counties and contractors, here’s a breakdown of new swimming pool construction permit data throughout the Sunshine State last month:

Southwest

As previously noted, the southwestern region of Florida held the highest concentration of new swimming pool construction last month, having 611 permits with a total construction value of approximately $50 million on record. The average value of new construction was $81,619, and more than half of all new permits originated from the two counties of Collier (200 permits) and Lee (161 permits).

Out of approximately 190 contractors with new swimming pool construction on record in the area last month, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits:

Southeast

Last month, there were just over 450 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of $35.6 million on record for the southeastern region of Florida. The average value of construction was lowest in the southeast (average value: $78,958) in comparison to other regions reviewed, and more than 62 percent of all new pool construction activity originated from the two counties of Palm Beach (167 permits) and Miami-Dade (116 permits).

Out of approximately 190 pool builders with new construction on record in the southeast last month, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits:

Tampa

In Tampa, there were approximately 280 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of nearly $23.5 million on record for the month of January. The average value of construction landed in the higher range (average value: $84,083) in comparison to most other Florida regions reviewed, and more than half of construction took place in the two counties of Hillsborough (81 permits) and Sumter (71 permits).

Orlando

Last month, there were approximately 255 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of $21 million on record for the Orlando area. The average value of construction was $82,715, and more than half of all permits originated from the two counties of Orange (76 permits) and Brevard (59 permits).

Out of more than 100 contractors with new pool construction activity on record for Orlando last month, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits:

Jacksonville

In the Jacksonville area, there were more than 170 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of $16.6 million on record last month. As previously noted, the average value of new pool construction was highest in Jacksonville (average value: $97,119) in comparison to other regions reviewed, and more than 70 percent of all permits originated from the counties of St. Johns (79 permits) and Duval (43 permits).

Out of nearly 75 pool builders with new construction activity on record in the area last month, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits:
