HBW Report: Florida Swimming Pool Construction – July 2021

A review of permit data for new swimming pool construction in Florida during the month of July 2021

Based on HBW’s latest construction data reports, there were more than 3,250 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value of nearly $165 million in the Sunshine State during the month of July.  Out of the five regions reviewed (Southwest, Southeast, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville), the greatest volume of new swimming pool construction took place in the Southwest (1,329 permits), while the highest average value of new projects could be found in Jacksonville (average value: $64,699).

Here is a closer look at the total permits, average value of construction, leading counties and builders for new swimming pool construction in Florida during the month of July 2021:

Southwest

New pool swimming construction activity was highest in the southwestern region of Florida.  In July, the area had 1,329 pool starts with a total construction value of nearly $65 million.  The average value of new construction was $48,714, and the county with the greatest volume of new permits was Lee (445 permits).

Out of the nearly 180 contractors with new permits on record in the southwestern region of Florida for the month, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits:

Southeast

In July, there were 728 new swimming pool permits with a total construction value of approximately $33.7 million added to the HBW database for the southeastern region of Florida.  The average value of new construction was lowest in the area in comparison to other regions reviewed (average value: $46,275), and more than half of all new permits originated from the two counties of Palm Beach (263 permits) and Miami-Dade (207 permits).

Out of the nearly 220 active contractors in the area during the month of July, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits for the one-month period:

Tampa

In July, there were 510 new pool permits with a total construction value of approximately $27.7 million on record with HBW for the Tampa area.  The average value of new pool construction was $54,255, and more than half of all construction activity took place in the two counties of Polk and Pasco where there were 142 and 125 new permits on record respectively.

Out of the more than 115 pool builders with new construction on record for the month, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits:

Orlando

In Orlando, there were 432 new swimming pool construction permits with a total value in excess of $22.5 million during the month of July.  The average value of new construction was $52,093, and more than half of all new permits originated from the counties of Orange (179 permits) and Brevard (86 permits).

Out of the 100 contractors with new swimming pool construction activity on record with HBW for the month, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits:

Jacksonville

In Jacksonville, there were 252 new pool swimming permits with a total construction value in excess of $16.3 million during the month of July.  The average value of new construction was highest in Jacksonville (average value: $64,699) in comparison to other Florida regions reviewed, and more than half of all new construction activity took place in St. Johns County (129 permits).

Out of the nearly 80 contractors with new permits on record in the area, the following ranked as the top three for total new permits during the one-month period:
