According to HBW’s latest construction data reports for Texas, there were more than 6,065 new residential construction permits with a total value of approximately $1.9 billion added to the HBW database for the Lone Star State last month. And while our previous post went into more detail on permit data, today we are using the reports to identify the leading home builders in each of the four major metro areas of Texas (Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio). For our purposes, “top home builders” are defined based on two factors: The total number of new residential construction permits pulled for a given period (July 2024); and the total construction value of permits on record for each home builder.
Across the state, Lennar Homes led the market, having approximately 670 new residential construction permits on record with HBW last month. Next in line, Taylor Morrison Homes ranked second, having 400 new permits on record last month.
Here is a closer look at the top five Texas home builders by area and based on the total number of new permits on record with HBW during the month of July 2024:
Dallas
In Dallas, there were more than 200 active home builders with new construction activity on record last month, and the following ranked as the top five for total new permits for the one-month period:
