A look at the top five residential construction contractors in each major metropolitan area of Texas during the month of December 2020
Earlier this week, we reviewed the latest permit data available from HBW for new residential construction in Texas and found that there were nearly 6,900 housing starts with a total construction value in excess of $1.6 billion on record for the month of December. Today, we are taking a look at the same construction data reports to identify the leading contractors who carried the highest volume of housing starts last month. And while each metropolitan area of Texas has its own unique lineup of leading home builders, there have been and continue to be two major players in the market month after month – From across the four major metro areas reviewed (Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio), both D.R. Horton and Lennar Homes continue to carry the highest concentration of new residential construction activity, having approximately 745 and 520 permits on record respectively.
