A review of the leading home builders in Florida during the month of April 2020 based on new residential construction permit data on record with HBW
Last week, we reviewed new residential construction activity in the Sunshine State during the month of April 2020 and as a result reported approximately 5,675 housing starts with a total construction value in excess of $1.6 billion for the one-month period. This week, we are using the same construction data reports to identify leading home builders across the state based on total permits pulled for the given period.
Statewide, two home builders continue to lead and fuel new home construction – D.R. Horton and Lennar Homes. Pulling on data from five major Florida regions (Southwest, Tampa, Orlando, Southeast, Jacksonville), both builders carried nearly 28 percent of all new home construction in the state, having a combined total of 1,571 new permits. D.R. Horton ranked #1 with 822 total new permits, while Lennar Homes ranked #2 with 749 total new permits for the month.
