A review of the leading home builders in Texas based on housing starts during the month of July 2021
Last week, we reviewed the latest HBW Reports for new residential construction in Texas during the month of July, and we found that there were more than 7,830 housing starts on record from the combined areas of Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. This week, we are using the same construction data reports to identify the leading home builders in each of the four metro regions of Texas.
Out of the hundreds of contractors with new residential construction permits on record for the one-month period, two home builders continue to stand out from the pack – D.R. Horton and Lennar Homes. D.R. Horton has consistently been responsible for the greatest concentration of housing starts in Texas month after month, and in July the mega-builder had nearly 755 housing starts within the four major metro areas of Texas. Not far behind, Lennar Homes also has a strong presence throughout the Lone Star State, having more than 655 housing starts on record last month. Additionally, Pulte Homes could be found on the leaderboard in nearly every region reviewed, having 478 new permits on record for the one-month period.
Combined, D.R. Horton, Lennar Homes, and Pulte Homes carried nearly 25 percent of all new residential construction on record with HBW for Texas during the month of July, and when we take a closer look at the lineup by region, there are other notable builders with a strong hold on the market.
